As an example, have a look at the video for the new VW Budd-e vehicle for 2020. It still needs to get a bit lower in price but they are getting closer to a price level where most can participate.
If Nissan can live up to expectations for the Leaf model in 2018, traditional gasoline driven vehicles will get serious competition. Whereas a traditional gasoline vehicle has > 2000 rotating components, EV’s have less than 25. Prepare for significant shifts, also in the vehicle service market.
